MSU Safety #1 Recap

Students on campus feel safe and secure whether that be living on or off campus.

As freshmen, Brittany Sloan and Maria Smith feel safe everywhere on campus, especially in the dorms because of the security they have around them. Between resident assistants and police, there's never a time they can't call on one or thee other for help if needed.

"When I experienced living in the dorms and being apart of the campus community I felt more comfortable," Sloan said.

MSU students living off campus seem to feel just as comfortable and safe like Niquel Jazmyne'. Jazmyne' has safe transportation to class and back home with the CATA services

As community assistant, Kathryn Milarch does her job to ensure her residents are always safe with 24/7 security throughout the complex.

"We have so much seurity around us," said Milarch.

Being cautious of your surroundings is the smartest thing to do as students on campus said Sergeant Dan Munford. As a policeman staying interactive on campus helps to keep the university safe and aware.

According to Munford,  "Awareness is the biggest and smartness thing students can do to remain safe on campus. Always leave yourself an escape route, walk in pairs, and never by yourself."

MSU police are forced to submit mandatory data to help FBI and UNC to help improve crime statistics.
